PLANNING, PROGRAMMING AND PROCESS MANAGEMENT
Good planning doesn’t predict the future - it makes better futures possible.
Schønherr advises clients on programming, process, and stakeholder engagement. Through strategic insight, interdisciplinary coordination, and user involvement, we create robust decision-making foundations and long-term solutions for complex projects.
PLANNING, STRATEGY AND URBAN PROGRAMS
“The city does not tell its past, but contains it like the lines of a hand.”
– Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities
Schønherr provides strategic consultancy and planning across all project phases – from early needs assessments to the development of programmes and timelines. We act as the client’s advisor, coordinating processes, stakeholders, and decisions with a focus on quality, momentum, and coherence.
With emphasis on preservation, cultural heritage, and site-specific qualities, we analyse physical, social, and climatic conditions such as topography, biodiversity, mobility, and user needs.
We produce functional and spatial programmes and phased implementation strategies. Our mappings combine field surveys, GIS, and digital models to make complexdata accessible.
Our work includes local plans, masterplans, EIA materials, and quality assurance on major urban developments.

COLLABORATIVE PROCESSES
“Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created by everybody.”
– Jane Jacobs
Schønherr plans and facilitates complex project processes with a focus on collaboration, momentum, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Through process planning and interdisciplinary coordination, we ensure that all actors work towards shared goals – from early programming to final approvals.
Publicand stakeholder involvement is a core part of our approach. Using tools such as the Schønherr Method, we establish a shared direction between clients, authorities, and local communities.
We lead workshops and dialogue formats that foster ownership, qualify decisions, and ensure political anchoring. In some cases, we supplement with temporary 1:1 urban installations, serving as valuable tools for dialogue and shared experience in the transformation of neglected areas – with results that combine architectural quality and measurable impact.

MAINTENANCE AND DOCUMENTATION
The best maintenance is care, not repair.
Documentation aligned with ESG targets, EU Taxonomy, and long-term operations is essential to ensure resilient and valuable architecture – in both public and private developments. We provide documentation of planting schemes, site furnishings, and material sustainability, and offer guidance on biodiverse and economically sustainable maintenance - beginning already in the design phase.
We develop maintenance and operations plans for projects of all scales, train operational staff, and ensure continuous plan updates. Schønherr also documents project decisions and lessons learned, monitors site performance over time and contributes to operational knowledge and long-term quality assurance.
