Dialogue Tool for Norway’s Green Industries

Architecture and design play a central role in the planning of future renewable energy facilities and green business development. To support this transition, Schønherr has contributed to the development of a dialogue tool that promotes sustainable enterprises in Norway through cross-disciplinary co-creation and site-specific planning.

The tool is based on the concept of value creation and consists of a document and a visual dialogue model that help stakeholders identify dilemmas, explore opportunities, and formulate shared goals. It has been developed as a prototype under the Schønherr Method – inspired bythe EU’s New European Bauhaus initiative, where sustainability, beauty, and community are guiding values for society’s green transition.

Through cross-sector workshops, the tool has been tested with actors from business, tourism, municipalities, and civil society –often with opposing interests. The experiences show that the dialogue too lstrengthens trust, reduces conflicts, and accelerates integrated solutions at the local level.

It is a concrete instrument for realizing the vision of a green industry that unites climate responsibility, export potential, and sustainable jobs – while also embracing beauty as a driving force for identity, belonging, and long-term resilience.
